GoDaddy has great customer service

How awesome is Go Daddy? Well let me tell you, that their prices for domain names are virtually unbeatable, their prices for secure certificates untouchable, and their customer service is phenomenal! Their webhosting and admin tools are mediocre but everything else I have found to be extremely satisfactory.

Two cool examples of why Go Daddy is great.
1 – I was having trouble getting my authorization code from a clients current registrar Tucows (who is the worst domain registrar ever) and they had a person on the phone with me in under 60 seconds from when I made the call to Go Daddy. In this day and age where people are cutting costs and off shoring or replacing people with electronic support. Go Daddy is cutting costs & having a real person answer the phone and getting me taken care of. And all their reps know their stuff.

2 – I have 50+ domains with Go Daddy, but the call me and see how I am doing. “Is everything ok”… “Yes everything is great” … “great great to hear, we have a way to save you over a dollar a domain if you renew them all on the same day rather than individually, would you like me to save you 10% a year on your domains?” … “Heck yes, thanks for calling”

They called me, to save me money, whereas Comcast, AT&T every other vendor in the world hikes rates and never tells you about it, I get a phone call from someone to save me some bucks. Sure, I had to renew a lot of them that day which is immediate cash in their pocket but overall it’s a good savings.

However, I do feel that Go Daddy is more of a power users site – they offer way too many services, and try to up charge you for 2 years, hosting, email, and all kinds of ad on’s when you are just trying to buy a domain. But, that’s why they are cheap, and their domain name product and DNS is just fine and dandy.
